7. Charles Mitchell Canada

Born in June 1838 in Forfar, Angus, Scotland and died on September 17, 1911 in Canada. On December 9, 1864 in Oathlaw, Angus, Scotland, Charles married Ann Webster. Ann was born in November 1836 in Oathlaw, Angus, Scotland.

Note: In 1881 Charles was a railway porter residing at Prior Moss Cottage, Forfar with his wife Ann and children Margaret, Alexander, Elizabeth, Mary, and Agnes.

Charles and Ann migrated to Canada and are buried in South Line Union Cemetery at Badjeros, Ontario with his brother James and his family. Ann died on October 23, 1901 and Charles Mitchell on September 17, 1911, at Ontario, Canada. [1]

“In Memory of Ann Webster, wife of Chas. Mitchell, died Oct 23 1901, Aged 64 yrs. 11 Mos 23 Dys, native of Forfarshire, Scotland; Chas. Mitchell, Died Sept 17, 1911, Aged 73 Yrs, 3 Mos, Native of Forfar, Scotland, At Rest.” [2]

  1. John Mitchell born September 17, 1865 in Forfar, Angus, Scotland. He died on December 26, 1939 in Creemore, Ontario, Canada, at the age of 74.
  2. James Mitchell born May 9, 1867 in Forfar, Angus, Scotland. He died on June 9, 1867 in Inverarity, Angus, within a year of his birth.
  3. Margaret Webster Mitchell born May 20, 1868 in Forfar, Angus, Scotland. She died on December 16, 1921 in Kent, Ontario, Canada, at the age of 53.
  4. Ann Fraser Mitchell born August 20, 1870 in Forfar, Angus, Scotland and died on February 14, 1871 in Inverarity, Angus, Scotland.
  5. Alexander Lowson Mitchell born March 27, 1872 in Forfar, Angus, Scotland. He died on November 2, 1921 in Weyburn, Saskatchewan, Canada, at the age of 49, and was buried there.
  6. Elizabeth Norrie Mitchell born July 28, 1874 in Forfar, Angus, Scotland.
  7. Mary Ann Mitchell born 1876/1877 in Forfar, Angus, Scotland. She died on June 23, 1960 at the age of 85, and was buried in Grey, Ontario, Canada.
  8. Agnes O. Mitchell born May 10, 1879 in Forfar, Angus, Scotland. Agnes married William Robert Dinsmore born in 1873. William died in 1921 aged 48 and Agnes died in 1947 at the age of 68, and was buried in Creemore, Ontario, Canada. [4]
  9. Charles Mitchell was born June 13, 1882 in Scotland and died on July 16, 1967 in Weyburn, Saskatchewan, Canada, at the age of 85, and was buried there.
